Run Craig, run!

We’re really proud to announce that Craig Heron who heads up Operations for Nasstar’s recruitment division has beaten off stiff competition to gain a place at the OCR World Championships in Canada on 14-16th October 2016.

For those that haven’t heard of OCR before, it is an independent global championship for the increasingly popular sport of Obstacle Course Racing. The idea behind the championships is to unify, promote and increase participation in the sport while celebrating all the amazing athletes that battle their way to compete.

Athletes qualify to compete in the OCRWC based on their performance at specific Qualifying Races. Craig not only came 6th in his age category at the Dirty Dozen Races, but also 26th overall in order to secure a place at the championships.

It’s no wonder that Craig made it to the championships, a quick look at his Twitter account charts all his latest fitness exploits, from running through fire, lugging around tyres, to running through dangling electric wires?!

With 2 days to go until the big race, Craig is currently boarding a plane with the rest of the UK team – next stop, Canada!

Once he’s there, Craig will settle in and start his last minute preparation for the big day. He plans to share his progress on social media and we’ll be keeping this post up to date with news so stay tuned for more information. You can also follow his progress on Nasstar's Twitter account.

All that’s left to say is best of luck Craig, we’re 100% confident you can handle whatever the championships can throw at you!

Craig came 50th in his age category in the world - an absolutely amazing achievement! On behalf of all at Nasstar, congratulations Craig, now go and have a well deserved rest!
