Nasstar’s Customers Recognised For Outstanding Achievements In The Professional Recruitment Sector

I’d just like to say congratulations to all those who made it to the 2018 Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) Awards For Excellence shortlist I was glad to see so many of Nasstar’s customers recognised for outstanding achievements in the professional recruitment sector.

In the Recruitment Company of the Year, £10m to - £50 million turnover category, I’m pleased to see Nasstar clients, Harnham and Cobalt Recruitment listed. This category recognises an APSCo member that has most consistently demonstrated the professional values and exceptional performances associated with APSCo membership throughout the past 12 months.

In the Recruitment Company of the Year in the £50+ million turnover category, I’m pleased to see Amoria Bond in the running.

In the Recruitment Company with the most sustainable growth, we have two Nasstar clients nominated, Harnham and Cobalt Recruitment. This award is for the APSCo member that has shown consistent growth over the past 5 years whilst demonstrating the professional values and exceptional performance associated with APSCo membership.

International Recruitment Company of the Year is for the member providing outstanding services to clients on an international basis throughout the last 12 months and it’s great to see Cobalt Recruitment listed.

And finally, CSR Initiative of the Year is a second nomination for Nasstar client, Amoria Bond. This award is for the member that has implemented the most effective Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, consistent with the professional values and exceptional performance associated with APSCo membership.

I'd like to spend some time reflecting why I think we have such a strong showing in the ASPCo awards from Nasstar customers.

Let's start right at the beginning and agree that a successful recruitment business is made up of three key ingredients, Culture, Talent and Technology.

Now at Nasstar, we cannot do much about Culture and only a small amount on Talent (read on below), but we do deliver the technology to support your talent in doing great things in a can-do driven culture.

Let's start by looking at a typical Nasstar client. I met with the business owners of an exciting and ambitious recruitment agency about 9 months ago that wanted to dominate in their chosen specialist sector. In summary, they wanted to open new branch offices much quicker and generally grow in a more predictable manner, unfortunately at the time they were relying on happy accidents. They wanted to make quicker decisions on if a sales consultant or a branch office was going to work out based on facts and evidence and not purely on gut feeling.

To support this strategy Nasstar moved them to a secure cloud-based strategy that enabled the business owners and team leaders to log in to a Microsoft Power BI dashboard each day and see data on their sales consultants across their various offices, their call volumes, deals closing out and their business KPIs on a single screen.

Let’s talk about how Nasstar supports your recruitment firm attract the best talent. As a business leader, your number one focus is to find the rock stars and leadership talent to drive your business forward and when you've put great teams together, you need to empower them to do great work with modern cloud-based tools.

The kind of talent you want to attract are using their smartphones to shop, socialise and do their on-line banking at the weekends, however, on Monday they will come back to the office to use your technology that hasn't been refreshed in 3-5 years. If you want to attract young talent, you need to create an environment they want to work for that reflects their outlook on life using mobile cloud technology they are familiar with. In many cases, young talent will walk down the road and work for your competitors if they don’t see you as a "modern" business.

Harnham, Cobalt and Amoria Bond are all natural winners and I’m so pleased with the recognition they are receiving from APSCo and I’m proud that Nasstar will receive some reflected glory as a result. Good luck to everyone!
