Going for Microsoft Gold

In news / By Lydia Cooper / 05 August 2016

For the last few months, Nasstar’s Head of Infrastructure, Shannon Johnston has made it his mission to add one Microsoft Competency to our suite every month and I’m pleased to say that August was no exception.

Back in July we were delighted to be awarded Silver Enterprise Mobility Management by Microsoft as a result of work completed by our technical teams for two of our key clients as well as our Group wide internal roll out of Yammer.

Going back to this month and for a moment it looked as if this might be the month that we missed our continuous competency acquisition run, however Shannon managed to turn that around and we are delighted to announce that Microsoft have awarded us Silver Cloud Platform.

This competency is based around the Azure platform and as an additional bonus means that Nasstar has been enrolled onto the incentives programme wherein we can benefit from rebates on particular Azure sales that we are involved in.

Furthermore, this additional competency now means that as a Group we now hold 3 of the 4 Cloud competencies that Microsoft have and it is now Shannon’s aim in life to obtain all four Cloud competencies; something very few partners can claim to have and a real achievement.

Thanks to Shannon’s hard work and determination, at last count Nasstar plc now holds 10 Silver competencies and 4 Gold. Watch this space in the last quarter of this year where I’m sure Shannon will bring us news of yet more competencies to add to our collection!

However, this process does not come without its negatives – Shannon now has a new hurdle to overcome in that we cannot build our new logo in the Microsoft Partner tool as we actually have too many competencies for the tool to interpret in one go!

Well, I suppose that’s not a bad problem to have really - watch this space for the updated logo!
